Dr. Stollings is the author of the book: Your Dental Practice Sale – Planning Ahead (1-15 Years): Optional Approaches To Planning & Executing Your Practice Sale, February of 2005.
In addition, he has published articles in Dental Economics and the Journal of Small Business Strategy. In 1991 he co-authored, with John B. Wallace, Ph.D. of Marshall University’s School of Business, “Improving The Value Of Professional Practices”, which received the 1st Place Distinguished Paper Award awarded by the Small Business Institute Directors Association.
Courses and Seminars
Dr. Stollings has conducted practice management workshops, presented accredited continuing education courses, guest lectured at dental schools, and presented many programs for state and local dental associations/societies.

Education
Dr. Stollings’ received his undergraduate degree from Marshall University. He then received his D.D.S. degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1973. Since that time, individually selected to be pertinent to his practice transition work, he has taken undergraduate accounting and marketing courses at Ohio University and Marshall University, as well as graduate-level business courses in accounting, finance, marketing, business law, and business management at Marshall University’s College of Business.
Practice / Clinical Experience
Following graduation from dental school, before pursuing his interest in dental practice transitions, Dr. Stollings spent one year on the faculty of West Virginia University School of Dentistry, served 3 years as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force, and was in private practice as both a solo-practitioner, and as a member of a 3 dentist group practice.
